Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive Delhi
On your arrival at Delhi international airport, you will be met by our company representatives and transferred to the hotel.
Overnight Stay will be at Delhi.
Day 02: Nagpur - Kanha
After breakfast, in time transfer to domestic airport for flight (9W111 - 07:05 hrs) to Nagpur. You will be met on arrival and we drive to the famous Kanha National Park. Arrive at Kanha and check into the Forest Lodge / Resort and relax.
Situated in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, Kanha is one of the most famous and picturesque tiger reserves of India, offering the best of opportunities for tracking and photographing tigers in their own habitat. The beautiful Park was the inspiration behind Rudyard Kipling's unforgettable classic Jungle Book.
Enjoy an evening Jeep Safari in the Jungles for tiger tracking and game viewing. Overnight Stay will be at Kanha.
Day 03: Kanha - Kawardha
After breakfast, enjoy a morning Jeep Safari through the scenic landscape of Kanha to explore its enchanting surroundings and amazing wildlife. Later, we drive to Kwardha in Chhattisgarh. Arrive and check into the beautiful Kawardha Palace.
After freshen up, enjoy an exciting and memorable trip to the surrounding tribal villages, along with one of the royal family member of Kawardha. Here, you will have your first glimpse of tribal life of the famous Bastar region.
Overnight stay will be at Kawardha Palace.
Day 04: Kawardha - Kanker
After breakfast, we drive southwards to Kanker. On way to Kanker, see the enchanting lush green surroundings of thick forests. The forest thickens all around as the road winds up serpentine Ghats. The hills in the distance, bathed in a misty blue, appear to fade into each other. Somewhere along the way, in a clearing on the side, men with poles slung over their shoulders and women with baskets on their heads, make their way down a forest track in single file, unmindful of the occasional vehicle going past. The air is fresh and sweet with the fragrance of wild flowers. There is an exhilarating sense of coming into something wondrous, beautiful and untouched. The virgin and untouched tribal landscape of the famous Bastar region is very fascinating indeed.
Arrive at Kanker and check into the beautiful Kanker Palace. After freshening up, explore the verdant surroundings of the palace. Overnight stay will be at Kanker Palace.
Day 05: Kanker
After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to Keshkal Ghat, 30 km south of Kanker, amidst dense forest. At the summit there are two picture-perfect rest houses, which offer spectacular views of the lush green valleys below. Later, visit few fascinating tribal villages of the region to get the first hand experience of the unique tribal life. You will also visit the ruins of some ancient temples in the area.
In the evening, we return to Kanker. Overnight stay will be at Kanker Palace.
Day 06: Kanker
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day excursion to visit the tribal village of Bahaigaon, which is famous for its dancers. The countryside around Kanker is an endless series of interesting discoveries. Visiting the Gond Muria and Gond Halva tribal villages can be a fascinating experience for you.
In the evening, we return to Kanker. Overnight stay will be at Kanker Palace.
Day 07: Kanker - Bastar (Jagdalpur)
After breakfast, we depart for Jagdalpur, the district headquarter of the famous Bastar tribal region. Enroute, you may visit the some centers of tribal craft and their emporia at Kondagaon. Here, you will also have the opportunity to mingle and interact with tribal folks. Arrive at Jagdalpur and check into the Hotel.
After freshening up, enjoy a visit to the Maria Gond tribe, known for their weaving, dancing and hospitality. Thereafter, we proceed to see the enchanting Chitrakote Waterfall (popularly known as Niagara of India) at sunset. Overnight stay will be at Jagdalpur.
Day 07: Jagdalpur - Jeypore
After breakfast, we drive to Jeypore, enroute visiting the famous Kotpad weavers and tribal villages. Jeypore, in the Koraput district of Orissa, is a feast for the eyes, cradled in virgin nature with a broad panorama of enchanting hills, rippling streams, spectacular waterfalls, wonderful caves and lush green valleys.
The unique tribes of Orissa continue to inhabit their traditional dwelling places in remote areas of the deep forests and hilly interiors. Though their economy is shaky, the Orissan tribal enjoy a rich and varied cultural heritage, the most powerful instance of this being in their music and dance, which are as colorful as they are rhythmical. Arrive at Jeypore and check into the Hotel. Overnight stay will be at Jeypore.
Day 08: Jeypore - Rayagada
After breakfast, we drive to Rayagada (220 km - 5 hrs), enroute visiting Chatikona to witness an interesting and colorful weekly market of the Dongaria Kondh Tribes. Visit and explore few villages of the primitive Dongaria Kondh Tribes, once famous for the human sacrifice. Today, these hilly tribes come down from Niayamgiri hill range with varieties of fruits and animals and it's a unique opportunity to see them before they mix with other community in the market. Enjoy free time in the market.
Arrive at Jeypore and check into the Hotel. Overnight stay will be at Jeypore.
Day 09: Rayagada - Gopalpur
After breakfast, we drive to Gopalpur on sea, enroute visiting the Kondh and Saora Tribes, their villages and lifestyles. The Kondh tribes of the region were once famous for Human Sacrifice, which has now been replaced with animal sacrifice, offering the blood to their supreme goddess represented by a piece of wood or stone to ensure fertility of the soil. The members of this tribe still use bows and arrows to protect themselves from wild animals. The Saoras Tribes are famous for their mud houses, which are decorated with remarkable paintings and traditional designs.
Arrive at Gopalpur on sea and check into the Hotel. Overnight stay will be at Gopalpur.
Day 10: Gopalpur - Bhubaneswar
After breakfast, we proceed for Bhubaneswar by surface, enroute visiting the enchanting Chilka Lake - the largest brackish water lake in the country, famous for exciting varieties of migratory birds and Irawaddy dolphins. The picturesque Chilka Lake is one of the most sought after tourist destination of India. The Lake is famous for its enchanting scenic beauty and a wide variety of fishes and migratory birds.
Arrive at Bhubaneshwar and check into the Hotel. Overnight stay will be at your hotel in Bhubaneshwar.
Day 11: Bhubaneshwar
After breakfast today, enjoy a daylong sightseeing tour of the famous Buddhist Heritage complexes in the region - Ratnagiri, Udayagiri and Lalitagiri, located at about 110 km from Bhubaneswar.
Bhubaneswar, the capital of the eastern Indian state of Orissa, is an important and sacred temple city of India. One of the famous ancient cities of India, Bhubaneswar represents a fine blend of art, architecture and ancient culture. The major tourist attractions at Bhubaneshwar include the Lingaraja Temple, Kedar Gouri, State Museum and the Bindusagar Tank.
In the evening, we return to Bhubaneshwar. Overnight stay will be at Bhubaneshwar.
Day 12: Bhubaneswar
After breakfast today, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Bhubaneswar, the Temple City of India. Bhubaneswar is famous for some enchantingly beautiful temples clustered around the Bindusagar Tank, which date back from the 7th -11th century AD. Visit the famous 11th century Lingaraja Temple, the late 10th century beautifully decorated Muktesvara Temple and the 7th century Parusurameswara Temple, a small but richly decorated shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva.
In the evening, in time transfer to the Airport to board the flight (S 2316) to Kolkata. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the Hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 13: Kolkata - Delhi - Tour Concludes
After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Kolkata.
Popularly referred as 'the City of Joy', Kolkata is one of the largest cities in the world. Also known as the intellectual capital of India, Kolkata is famous for its unique and rich cultural and architectural heritage. Some of the best-built buildings in India are the colonial buildings in Kolkata. Visit the famous Victoria Memorial, Howrah Bridge, Birla Planetarium, Eden Gardens and Kalighat Temple, the main Kali temple in Kolkata.
In the afternoon, in time transfer to airport to board a flight to Delhi and connecting flight for your onward destination or way back home with sweet memories of Chhattisgarh Tour.
